BBC Breakfast host Manchetti’s leg took to Twitter to say goodbye to his former colleague as he is about to leave broadcasting after four decades.

Eddie Meyer decided to quit journalism after 40 years, during which time in his brilliant career he represented BBC Radio 4, Newsnight and Any Questions.

Eddie recently spoke on LBC radio and announced his retirement on his four-year anniversary of joining the company.

He shared a tweet for his 125,000 followers about the decision.

Myr wrote, “Sorry about that. There is a war and a crisis of the cost of living, but here’s something about me blah. I only regret not having joined before. I have a ball, and under equal conditions, it will probably last forever. “

He then praised Global, the owner of LBC, for the “love and support” of the radio industry, before noting that he had “no time on his side”.

The 56-year-old said he had been “in it” for 40 years and would like to enjoy the time before he “screams” so will continue “as a devoted LBC listener” but wants to “pass things on to someone new”.

He signed, wishing his successor “all the best”, and received a barrage of responses to the disappointing news.
