NASA is launching a mission to see if the universe will fall apart

The ship was named the Roman Space Telescope Nancy Grace in honor of the first head of NASA's astronomy department.

NASA launched a mission, “to see if the universe will collapse in the future,” as fears grow among scientists about its expansion.

The universe is expanding, and the expansion is accelerating so much that some scientists are worried that it will all break.

In response, NASA’s Roman Space Telescope Nancy Gracie will be launched into the sky in 2027, and operation will begin shortly thereafter.

Scientists think that the universe can continue to expand and tear to pieces in the so-called Great Gap.

This is a hypothetical cosmological model regarding the ultimate destiny of the universe.

This applies to the matter of the universe, from stars and galaxies to atoms and subatomic particles and even space-time itself. The theory is that they are gradually being torn apart as a result of the expansion of the universe.

The ship was named the Roman Space Telescope Nancy Grace in honor of the first head of NASA’s astronomy department.

“The novel will determine the history of the growth of the largest structures in the universe to test possible explanations for its apparent acceleration of expansion, including dark energy and changes in Einstein’s gravity …”, – said in a study.

The study “The High Latitude Spectroscopic Survey on the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope” is published in The Astrophysical Journal.

Principal Author – Yun Wang, Senior Research Fellow, Caltech / IPAC in Pasadena, California.

“Our study predicts that a spectroscopic review of Roman’s science will allow and show how various adjustments can optimize his design,” said lead author Wang.

In the Big Bang Phantom Dark Energy – negative kinetic energy – could accelerate space-time expansion until it becomes unstable.

Scientist Katie Mack describes it as “the monstrous destruction of the universe in a finite time.” Galaxies will begin to emerge from their orbits when the space through which they moved deformed and sagged.

Eventually, the planets will fly into space before breaking them even at the atomic level.

Usually cosmologists agree that the end of the world will happen in one of three ways: the Great Frost, the Great Gap and the Great Crunch.

Professor Venus Keus explained the theories during Ted Talk. She said: “The Great Freeze scenario is what happens when the force that stretches objects is strong enough to stretch the eraser until it loses its elasticity.”

Eventually, the energy will be so low that new stars are not formed.

“The universe will become darker and colder as it approaches the frozen state, also known as the Great Cold, or the thermal death of the universe,” she added.

Another theory is the Great Crunch, an infinite universe that explodes and explodes forever.

“Galaxies will begin to rush toward each other, and as they merge, their gravitational pull will become even stronger,” said Professor Keys.

“The stars would also rush together and collide. The temperature will rise as the space becomes tighter.

“The size of the universe will decrease until everything is compressed into such a small space that even atoms and subatomic particles will have to crunch together.”
