BBC Breakfast this week fans were baffled as both permanent presenters were replaced as a result of the show’s severe concussion.
Sally Newgent was absent from the show on Wednesday (March 30), and Nina Warhurst came to the red couch instead.
Breakfast is usually presented by Dan Walker and Sally from Monday to Wednesday, and Charlie State and Naga Manchetti take over the rest of the week.
But her regular partner Dan was also absent from Breakfast all week – as he is busy relaxing and improving his golf. Interim presenter John Kay has thankfully managed to do it for him.
Sally, however, has not yet offered an explanation on social media as to why she was not on set on Wednesday.
Fans were embarrassed by the replacement, and they switched to Twitter to share their confusion – and Nina’s great support.
One of them wrote, “NINA! Thank God we’ll be enjoying breakfast this morning, nothing against John, but I miss Dan!”
Someone else said, “Nina, you’re made for this morning presenter’s job!”
“@BBCBreakfast, Nina, you’re a breath of fresh air,” added another avid fan.
While the fourth said, “Glad to see Meta [Taylor]John and Nina this morning … love this team. “
Dan recently went on Twitter to explain his absence from breakfast, as he is currently taking part in a golf charity event to raise money for Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
By posting a series of shots in which he looks chic in full golf gear at a playground next to his friends, Dan even had his own sign on the golf bugs.
He wrote next to the photos: “What an amazing day to play at the @euLegendsTour event, raising money for @SheffChildrens
“We may not have won, but we had a brilliant day on the course with @georgiebingham and the cheerful Swedes Jarma Sandelin and my partner Joachim Hegman.”
Dan attended the celebrity event and was busy the rest of the week training with his friends on the swing, which explains his absence from the BBC Breakfast.
