The Meteorological Office has issued a snow warning with -7C deep freeze to wreak havoc on travel in the UK

People in Scotland have also been told to fear “delays in road travel with some detained vehicles and passengers, as well as delays or cancellations of rail and air travel”.

The warning continues: “There is little chance that some rural settlements may be cut off.

“There is a small chance that there will be a power outage, and other services such as mobile coverage may be affected.”

“[There is] there is little chance that untreated sidewalks and bike paths will become impassable. “

According to WX graphicstemperatures in the warning area will drop to -7C on Thursday, leaving a few inches of snow on the ground within a week.

There may be more snow in England and Wales next week

On Thursday also the snow will move to the northern parts of England, fall heavily around Newcastle and Manchester and leave on the ground one or two inches.

WX charts also predict that the squall could reach the south to the Midlands, although by then the snow front will have dissipated significantly and nothing is expected.

In Wales, some action can also be observed until Friday, this week the temperature there and in England at some point will be below zero.

This week probably won’t be the last we’ll see white stuff this month, and previous WX Charts readings next week show another snow front is moving, this time from the West to cover Wales and England.
