Van Gerwen won on the ninth night Premier League in Leeds with the defeat of James Wade 6-1 in the final. After the match MVG was asked about Welsh rival Price, who was defeated by Wade 6-5 in his quarterfinals.
The green car did not hold back in its response, joking, “I don’t know if he needs a break. Let him stay home until the end of the year, I don’t care. It takes so much energy out of you. ”
Price’s decline in shape coincided with the discovery that he was playing with a broken wrist. The 2021 world champion lost to Joe Cullen 6-3 in the Premier League last week and performed poorly in a series of player championships last weekend.
Everything is clearly reflected in Price, who earlier this week posted a poll in his story on Instagram asks the fans if he should take a break from the game.
Van Gerwen does not know whether his opponent from Tungsten should take some time out, but he sympathizes with the situation in which Price found himself.
He added: “People at home probably don’t understand what it means to be on top all the time. You are under pressure, you spend a lot of time away from home, there are many different factors.

“You don’t want to go through a difficult period because you want to overcome it, but it requires some action. It’s not easy, but everyone has to decide for themselves. “
The Dutchman is now three points behind the top of the Premier League after the victory in Leeds and looks like a good bet to reach the playoffs, missing 12 months ago.
Johnny Clayton and Peter Wright are second and third with 19 points and 18 points, respectively, before falling behind Wade in fourth place with 13 points.
Price is sixth in the table after failing to reach the quarterfinals in each of the last three weeks. Next week in Manchester he is scheduled to meet world champion Wright.
