A royal the author believes that Megan Markle did not know it Princess Diana had to “work like a dog” before she became a “world superstar”.

Tina Brown likened Megan’s work ethic to “lots of very mundane assignments” that Diana had to complete for the firm before becoming an icon.

The former Vanity Fair editor says the Duchess “did not understand her role” when she joined the royal family, and said she hoped to follow the same path as Harry’s mother, according to the Daily Mail.

She discussed a tour of Australia on ITV Lorraine and said: “She didn’t like it at all.

“She has found for herself all the representative work of suppressing your own views and representing the monarchy. [it] was just anathema.

“It’s not the way she looked at her role, the world, she didn’t understand it, and for her, yes, it was a great success, but it wasn’t something she wanted to do.

“She saw palaces and Diana as this world humanitarian superstar, but forgot that for 16 or 17 years Diana worked as a dog in the royal family, performing many very mundane tasks.

“It was her charisma that she brought to work that made her so extraordinarily special.”

While Megan and Harry decided to step down from their responsibilities for a more peaceful life in the United States, Diana left the firm due to the severance of relations with Prince Charles, the author added.

“She didn’t leave the royal family because she said I was out,” she said, “she said,” said Ms. Brown.

“After she left the royal family, she became much more global, not only because she wanted to be, but also because she couldn’t be anything but because she was part of the royal machine.”
