A number of cordons are in place in a Co Antrim town after the discovery of a suspicious object.

Police are at the scene of a security alert in the Hillmount Gardens area of Larne this evening, Friday, May 6. A suspicious object has been discovered and cordons are in place.

A PSNI spokesman said: “Police are currently at the scene of a security alert in the Hillmount Gardens area of Larne following the discovery of a suspicious object this evening (Friday, May 6th).

“A number of cordons are in place. There are no further details at present.”
