Golf icon Rory McIlroy had a number of partners before settling with his future wife Erica Table in 2015, and was once close with the future Duchess of Sussex, Megan Markle.
The 33-year-old Northern Irishwoman, who has twice won the US Open, Open Championship and PGA Championship, finished second at the Masters earlier this year, cheered on by Erica.
Before he met a former PGA employee of America who became his wife, McIlroy had a high relationship with the Irish celebrity and tennis star who won Grand Slam tournaments. Daily Star Sport take a deeper look at its dating history below.
Holly Sweeney
McIlroy was in a relationship with Holly Sweeney from 2003 to 2011, the couple met in their teens and became a childhood favorite.
The star of future celebrity Come Dine With Me Holly was portrayed with McIlroy at golf when his professional career began, and lived with him in their mansion in Down County worth £ 1.5 million before their divorce.

Holly said Irish Sunday Mirror in 2011: “I think I was just shocked by what happened. We were not together for long, and I thought everything was going very well, but then sat down and said – it was a shock.
“I was just upset that he hadn’t learned anything from the separation before. I felt that all the efforts I made to make the relationship work were completely wasted. “

Carolina Wozniacki
Shortly after parting ways with Holly McIlroy, he began dating tennis superstar Carolyn Wozniacki, who accompanied him to several major events as he responded.
The relationship looked solid when the couple got engaged in 2013, but Caroline was heartbroken after McIlroy ended the relationship after sending out invitations to the wedding.

At the time, his statement said: “Wedding invitations issued over the weekend have made me realize that I am not ready for anything that entails marriage.
“I wish Caroline all the happiness she deserves and thank her for the wonderful moments we spent. I will not say anything more about our relationship under any circumstances. “
Megan Markle
After this breakup in early 2014, McIlroy became close with then-costume star Megan Markle, but the couple never said anything publicly about the potential relationship.

Asked if he had any advice for Harry, he replied: “I obviously know little about Megan, but how then to answer such a question because there are obvious cultural differences between Erica and me.
“For Prince Harry there would be cultural differences, even if he married a Briton and, as was the case with his brother, Prince William, just because of how he grew up.”
Erica Table
McIlroy began dating Erica Table, a former PGA employee of America, back in 2015, and they got engaged the same year during a romantic trip to Paris.
The couple married in 2017 in Mayo County, and in September 2020 gave birth to a child by daughter Poppy.

McIlroy he said of Ericwho is an American, back in 2017: “The biggest impact I had on my life off course was definitely Eric.
“It made me realize that I want to be away from the golf course, which in turn I feel made me better at it.”
