“Wheels come off” for Vladimir Putin as his ill health plunged the Kremlin into chaos, a former British intelligence officer said.
The President of Russia is constantly surrounded by a team of doctors and requires round-the-clock care, says Christopher Steele, who previously headed Russia table in MI6.
In an interview with Eddie Mayr on LBC, he said that the “exact details” of Putin’s ill health remain shrouded in mystery, and even high-ranking colleagues of the Russian leader do not remain in the dark.
But Mr Steele said it was clear that the former KGB officer was seriously ill and that his poor health was beginning to affect Moscow when it was at war with Ukraine.

He said: “He is constantly accompanied by a team of doctors.
“Security Council meetings, which appear to last an hour, are actually divided into several sections, he goes out and gets some treatment between those sections.
“So it’s obvious that he’s seriously ill – it’s unclear how incurable or incurable it is, we can’t be completely sure.
“But it is definitely having a very serious impact on Russia’s governance at the moment.”
There has been growing speculation about the true nature of Putin’s medical problems, with some reports claiming he has cancer and is receiving chemotherapy and steroid treatment.

Other allegations suggest Putin is suffering from Parkinson’s disease or early-stage dementia.
A Last month, the video went viral when the despot failed to control his hand in a sumptuous meeting with a fellow dictator.
Mr Steele continued on LBC: “The Kremlin is in turmoil and in fact chaos, there is no clear political leadership from Putin, who is getting sicker, and that from a military point of view, command structures and so on are not functioning as they should. ».
Asked by the mayor if he thought the “wheels were coming off”, the former spy replied: “I, yes.”
