Glasswater Locks is the second project in the city by residential developer St Joseph

New images have been released of a major residential development in Birmingham as it is launched to the market.

Glasswater Locks is the next project in the city by St Joseph, a specialist division of housebuilding group Berkeley which was launched in 2017 to focus on developments in Birmingham and the surrounding area.

The new canalside development, at the corner of Jennens Road and Lawley Middleway, will have 716 apartments, ranging from one to three bedrooms, and 20,000 sq ft of commercial spaces built across seven blocks rising up to 37 storeys.

Other facilities within the complex, which was consented in 2019, will include 24-hour concierge, business lounge, games room, cinema and gym.

Glasswater Locks will neighbour the Birmingham City University campus and forthcoming HS2 station in Curzon Street.

It follows work by St Joseph on the Snow Hill Wharf development in the Gun Quarter which will contain 420 apartments and is nearing completion. CGIs of Glasswater Locks can be seen in the gallery below.

St Joseph’s regional managing director Marcus Blake said: “Glasswater Locks symbolises the next step in our ambitious long-term vision for Birmingham and the wider Midlands to continue delivering high quality developments.”
