It’s Angelina Jolie’s birthday, so while she‘s celebrating another lap around the sun we decided that there’s no better excuse to take a look back over some of her most incredible gowns.
With the year’s most major red carpets – we are, of course, talking about the Oscars, the Met Gala and more recently Cannes Film Festival – having come to a close, the fashion fans amongst us are doing what we do best and are busy reminiscing about the season’s very best sartorial moments.
But while the likes of Rihanna, Zendaya and Lady Gaga know how to drop our jaws when it comes to epic eveningwear, Angelina Jolie will *forever* be red carpet royalty.
Of course, as soon as anyone mentions ‘Angelina Jolie’ and ‘red carpet’ in the same sentence, almost every single one of us has the exact same occasion, the exact same dress, in mind.
The Atelier Versace gown that she wore to the 2012 Oscars was undoubtedly one of the most-referenced dresses of the decade. It even spawned its own Twitter account!

But while the dress was, of course, impeccable, it was Angelina’s posing and cleverly-positioned right leg which stole the show. Forever renaming any such leg-exposure as ‘the Angelina leg’, it’s one of the actress’s most iconic ever fashion moments.
