Bon Jovi was left with a broken heart after the tragic death of the band’s first bassist Alec John Sach.
The band – John Bon Jovi, David Brian, Tika Torres, Phil X and Hugh MacDonald – announced the musician’s death in an emotional statement on Instagram.
It read: “We heard the news of our dear friend Alec John Sach with a broken heart.
“He was original. As a founding member of Bon Jovi, Alec was an integral part of forming the band.
“Honestly, we found our way to each other through him – he was a childhood friend of Tiko and brought Richie to our performance.
“Alec has always been wild and full of life. Today these special memories bring a smile to my face and tears to my eyes. We will miss him very much.”
Alec was one of the founders when the rock band came together in 1983.
However, 11 years later in 1994, he went his own way.
