Five players whose Man Utd careers ten Hag can revive
Manchester United fans will be a little on edge at the moment.
While so many supporters were keen to see the back of the previous season and welcomed the arrival of Erik ten Hag as the new head coach, some would have perhaps been expecting really early moves in the transfer window.
There have been links to a number of players both incoming and outgoing, although little tangible has materialised yet. Even though the market is yet to officially open, time will be of the essence given the surgery the Red Devils squad needs.
Mirror Sport has all of your latest United headlines, with transfers understandably the main topic of discussion at the moment.

Real confirm Pogba stance
Real Madrid have dismissed speculation linking them with a move for Paul Pogba this summer.
The France International’s time at Old Trafford is set to end in the coming weeks, with his contract poised to run out. While he largely underperformed during his time in Manchester, some of European football’s biggest clubs have been linked with a move, including Juventus, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.
The European champions are another said to have been in the frame, although reports in Spain suggest that is not the case.
El Chiringuito have said Madrid “flatly denied” claims that they wanted to sign Pogba. They have been strongly linked with the 29-year-old’s France team-mate Aurelien Tchouameni in recent weeks, who also plays in central midfield.

De Jong discusses Ten Hag
Frenkie de Jong has spoken of his admiration for new United boss Ten Hag, but has played down speculation linking him with a move away from Barcelona.
It was under Ten Hag at Ajax when De Jong developed into one of the best midfielders in European football, prompting links to some of Europe’s biggest clubs and an eventual switch to the Camp Nou.
De Jong has had an up-and-down time in Catalonia and rumours linking him with a move to the Red Devils have emerged. However, he doesn’t appear to be in any hurry to change clubs.
“I will not go into that [the links to United],” he said. “Not even about other names or clubs. I used to be naive and open-minded about it. I don’t do that anymore. I understand that that link is made. That sum is not that difficult, it is logical. I have enjoyed working with Ten Hag at Ajax – and I can’t look into the future, of course. But I prefer to stay at Barcelona.”

Merson expresses Ronaldo concern
Former England international forward Paul Merson has shared his doubts over Cristiano Ronaldo’s ability to be a team player going forward.
The veteran striker made a stunning return to Old Trafford ahead of the previous season and showed that he still has sharp goalscoring instincts, netting 24 times in all competitions for the Red Devils.
However, his age and attitude have prompted some to question whether or not he is the right fit for Ten Hag’s setup, including Merson.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is probably the only player at Manchester United who hasn’t been a disappointment this season,” said the ex-Arsenal forward. “His individual numbers add up and he has been their most consistent player over the past year.
“While Ronaldo did score his goals, I don’t think he helped the team much. The new manager’s got a hard job coming up. If you keep Ronaldo for another year, that’s another year without much of a plan. If he does well next year and Manchester United come third, it’s a waste – because he’ll leave after that.”
