Thirty-two Just Stop Oil protesters set up three road blocks at the junction of Knightsbridge and Brompton Road at 10am, stopping traffic in both directions, with some stuck to the tarmac.

Dozens the police were at the scene on the A4 for several minutes, but were unable to stop angry drivers brawling with the protesters.

One yelled, “I’m taking a lady who has to go to the hospital with her baby,” while the other yelled, “I’ve got to fly, just move.”

In a video circulating on social media, a van driver is seen plowing through a row of protesters, while a taxi driver also pushes him, breaking through the activists’ blockade as he angrily argues with them.

An emergency fire engine was also seen struggling to navigate a nearby road due to traffic jams caused by the blockades, while one man tried to pull protesters off the road.

As of 11:30, the police started detaining the demonstrators and pulling them away from the barricade. By noon, the sit-ins were dispersed.

Sit-ins in Knightsbridge the latest in a series of Just Stop Oil demonstrations taking place in London throughout Octoberto cause disruption and force the government to stop issuing all new oil and gas licenses.
