    SNOW is set to blanket the UK within two weeks as forecasters predict a drop in temperatures.

    According to weather radar maps, a large band of snow can be seen on Friday, December 9. WXCHARTS.

    It is due to hit the south coast of England and move up towards the Scottish Borders.

    In the following days, snow will continue in the same areas, in the west and north there will be light flurries Scotland.

    On Saturday, December 10, those in Exeter and Bournemouth most likely, will wake up in white gardens, because the snow is forecast to fall at night.

    However, Britons can expect to deal with slush until December 12 when the snow clears, with some parts of northern Scotland forecast to see moderate rainfall.

    It happens after forecasters released Yellow weather alerts for snow last week when temperatures dropped to 3C.

    It was set to fail in parts of Northern Scotland, including the Cairngorms National Park, the Isle of Skye and Fort William.

    Meanwhile, much of Scotland was also under a yellow weather warning.

    The Metaburo had to issue three separate yellow weather warnings earlier this week.

    They covered different areas of the country, a storm and possible floods are predicted.

    The first warning of strong winds and covered most of it Devon and Cornwallas well as the southern coast of the river Wales.

    There were to be power cuts in the region as gusts of up to 80mph swept across the south-west, while the Met also warned of road delays and possible injuries from gusty debris.

    At the opposite end of the UK, in the east Scotland was mostly covered by a yellow ice warning.
