The TOWIE star joins thousands of people as they switch on the Christmas lights in Brentwood

For the first time in two years, Brentwood Borough Council held its ‘Lighting Up Brentwood’ festive event in and around the High Street on Saturday (November 26).

Around 15,000 visitors enjoyed the festivities, including entertainment, festive food and drink, and craft and gift stalls.

The Only Way is Essex star James Argent and singer Che Chesterman joined Brentwood Mayor Olivia Francois on stage for the induction.

Will Russell, chairman of the council’s community, environment and enforcement committee, said: “It was great to see so many people enjoying the bank holiday with their families and friends.

“We all love a bit of Christmas spirit and hope everyone enjoyed the day as much as we did.”
