Sky has confirmed the future of the hugely popular show after two seasons on screen

SKY have confirmed the future of one of their hugely popular shows – and fans are in for a treat.

Gangs of London will return for a third series, the broadcaster has confirmed.

They shared the news with delighted fans on social media.

“News just in, gangsters… #GangsOfLondon series 3 confirmed,” they said.

A short teaser video accompanied the tweet, which featured three bullet holes – each representing a series.

The news excited fans, with one saying: “One of the best shows in years.”

“Amazing news,” said another viewer.

And the third said: “We are waiting for it.”

Plot details for the third series are yet to be revealed and fans may have to wait a while until it returns to screens.

Speaking previously about a potential third series, the show’s director Corin Hardy said it was “set up” for another run.

“It’s one hundred percent set up for season three,” she said.

“I think you always plan to tell your story and hope you’re lucky enough to follow through on it, but at the end of the day it’s all about how it’s received.”

The show depicts the struggle between rival gangs and other criminal organizations in modern day London.
