Rahul Gandhi pays tribute to freedom fighter Tantia Bhil on his death anniversary

Agar Malwa (Madhya Pradesh) [India]December 4 (ANI): Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Sunday paid tributes to freedom fighter Tantia Bhil on his death anniversary.

Senior party leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath also accompanied Rahul Gandhi to pay his respects in Madhya Pradesh.

Tantia Bheel used arrows and slings to stop British trains at Patalpani, which is at least 25 kilometers from Indore. After stopping the trains, the Bhil looted their money, jewels, grains, oil and salt and distributed them among the people.

Rahul Gandhi along with party leaders and workers including Kamal Nath and Namdev Das Tyagi (popularly known as Computer Baba) resumed the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ from Mahudiya village on Saturday morning.

The yatra, which entered Madhya Pradesh on November 23, will cover seven districts of the state in 12 days.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra has so far covered parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Maharashtra and is scheduled to enter Rajasthan tonight.

According to Congress sources, the Yatra will end on January 26, 2023 in Kashmir at a distance of about 3,500 km.

“The Congress was going to end this Yatra by hoisting the tricolor in Srinagar on February 20, but now as per the new strategy, Rahul Gandhi will end his Yatra by hoisting the tricolor in Srinagar on Republic Day,” sources said.

According to party sources, after January 26 to February 7, a plenary session of the Congress is planned, at which the name of Congress Party President Mallikarjun Kharge will be approved, after which a new Congress Working Committee will be formed.

Shortly after the formation of the committee, there will also be major changes in the party organization that have been expected and postponed for a long time.

Notably, the Bharat Jodo Yatra, which began on September 7 from Kanyakumari, will cover another 2,355 km in its 3,570 km march. It will be completed in Kashmir next year. This is the longest foot march by any Indian politician in the history of India, the Congress said in a statement earlier.

The Congress was defeated in the Assembly elections earlier this year and the Yatra is being seen as an attempt to rally the party rank and file for the upcoming election battles. (ANI)
