Always a great idea, a party brunch can either get the weekend off to a good start or make a short work day. Here’s The Resident’s pick of some of London’s best.

1 Palm House, Victoria

Miami’s newly opened 1930’s Club Restaurant Big Party Brunch features a saxophonist as well as tropical-clad dancers. The menu includes a cleansing fruit plate to share for starters, tacos and Cuban caramelized brioche with cinnamon and vanilla bean cream and dulce de leche among a selection of hearty main courses. If you have room left, you’re in luck because there’s unlimited churros for dessert. Comes with bottomless drinks so you can have sangria, rum punch, prosecco or beer.

2 STK Steak House, Westminster, Strand, Stratford

With several locations spread across the capital, this American-style steakhouse is a glittering ball and purveyor of a “dining atmosphere” that you can interpret however you like. The weekend brunch menu is coma-inducing – Smoked Pork Belly Benedict, Truffle Burger, Lobster Eggs Benedict, Hot Chicken and Waffles and Cinnamon French Toast with Cream Cheese Glaze to fuel your spirits. You can also make your food bottomless.

3 Sexy Fish, Mayfair

Famous and infamous for being one of the hottest spots in town, Sexy Fish’s style is maximalist glamor with a touch of aquatic spirit. Expect sushi and themes, as well as DJs and lavishly dressed performers to spread the party atmosphere while you savor a piece of sashimi and a smoking cocktail.

4 Chinois Park, Mayfair

Dine in 1930s Shanghai-style grandeur at this Mayfair location while you’re entertained by bands and performers. The Shanghai breakfast comes in either meat or vegetarian options and starts with a choice of steamed and fried dim sum, before moving on to a succulent main – grilled wagyu bavette with black pepper, for example, or haka paneer with seasonal pepper, for example, and then dessert, cooked by Park Chinois pastry chef.

5 Decimo at The Standard, King’s Cross

Peter Sánchez-Iglesias’ Michelin-starred Mexican fusion restaurant hosts a glam party where you sip Seville mimosas and margaritas while feasting on dishes and small plates that are a mix of popular tapas and breakfast plates like pork belly tacos, chorizo, croquet de jamon and tortillas. Make sure you dress smartly for it.
