Patriots TE Hunter Henry, Bengals OL La’el Collins injured

New England Patriots tight end. Hunter Henry left Saturday’s game against the visiting Cincinnati Bengals early in the first quarter with a knee injury.

Also on Saturday, Bengals offensive tackle Lael Collins left with an apparent leg injury late in the first quarter.

Henry collided with tight end John Smith on New England’s first drive of the game and limped off the field.

He was taken to the locker room and the team said his return was in question.

Entering Saturday, Henry had 30 receptions for 415 yards and two touchdowns in 14 games this season. He was yet to be targeted on Saturday.

Smith is the only other active tight end on New England’s depth chart.

Henry, 28, has 276 career catches for 3,340 yards and 32 touchdowns in 87 games with the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers (2016-20) and Patriots.

Collins, 29, appeared to be injured after being spun by Patriots defensive end Davon Godchaux. Players from both sides waved to the sideline to get the attention of the team’s coaches, who quickly came out to help Collins.

Collins was able to walk off the field, but ESPN reported shortly afterward that he was taken to the locker room.

Beginning Saturday, Collins had started all 14 of the Bengals’ games this season. He is in his first season in Cincinnati after spending the first six of his career with the Dallas Cowboys.
