Britain’s Got Talent bosses reveal a new format change ahead of the next season
BRITAIN’S Got Talent is heading north for the first time in three years – and with a new judge on the panel.
Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alyosha Dixon will hold auditions in Manchester after filming the last two series at the London Palladium.
They will be joined by the fourth judge – his replacement David Williams — whose identity has yet to be announced when filming begins in February.
It comes after bosses overhauled the application process inviting the audience to nominate secretly friend or family member for the show.
A TV source said: ‘Artist Nomination’ essentially opened up a whole new pool of talent.
“Viewers began to be critical of the number of “recycled” acts that appeared on others Got talents or were already in the professional circuit, but the new process has already produced good undiscovered talent.
“The opportunity to audition inManchester also effectively opens the North — for example, some performers simply could not afford the trip of an entire troupe or choir. Everything is gearing up for a truly wonderful new series, now that all pandemic restrictions have been lifted as well.”
Dates at the Lowry Theater in Salford, Manchester, to be announced shortly, with Ant and snow returning once more as hosts.
Britain’s Got Talent was introduced last year Golden momentswhich saw each judge visit the unsuspecting and invite them to audition for the show.
David announced last month that he was exit panel ten years later, being forced to apologize for making lewd comments about contestants.
A source said: “He didn’t take the decision lightly but it feels like it’s time to move on.”
There were several names suggested to replace it.
It seems fair to say that we should expect even more upheavals in the upcoming series.

Eighteen months ago, series creator Brad Ingelsby said HBO approached him about a potential follow-up, but added, “I just don’t know what the story is.
“That’s the question right now.”
