A £400,000 road improvement scheme at Ballysillan Park in Belfast

A £400,000 resurfacing of the carriageway and footpaths will begin on Monday 9 January 2023 at Ballysillan Park in Belfast.

The improvement works will extend for approximately 500 meters from Ballysillan Road to Ballysillan Avenue and will bring significant benefits to residents and road users.

To ensure the safety of road users and workers, it is necessary to close the lanes locally during the construction of the pedestrian road with a complete road closure after the work on the carriageway begins. The majority of the scheme will be carried out between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday, however the road may need to be closed at weekends during the final repairs to the carriageway. Full details of the closure will be shown before the works start.

Road users are asked to obey all temporary traffic restrictions and to drive carefully when passing through the road works area.

Weather permitting, all work will be completed by March 30, 2023, but the Department will keep the public informed of any changes.

While the Department has carefully planned these roadworks and associated traffic management measures to minimize inconvenience to the public, road users should expect delays and allow extra time when planning any journey.
