NSA Ajit Doval will meet his British counterpart Tim Barrow in London

New Delhi [India]Feb 4 (ANI): National Security Advisor Ajit Doval is all set to meet his British counterpart Tim Barrow in London, sources said.

In September 2022, Tim Barrow was elected UK National Security Adviser.

Barrow was once political director and second permanent deputy at the Foreign Office’s Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO), according to the UK government’s official website.

The ties between India and the UK are often described as a Living Bridge, a dynamic economic force of people, businesses and ideas.

India and the United Kingdom (UK) have a relationship of comprehensive strategic partnership. Both countries have also completed six rounds of negotiations on the trade deal and will start the next round very soon.

Notably, India and the UK have started negotiations on a Free Trade Area Agreement between the two countries in January 2022. The UK-India Free Trade Agreement is well advanced. Although trade currently stands at £29.6 billion, India is only the UK’s 12th largest trading partner.

In an exclusive interview with ANI, the British High Commissioner also highlighted the benefits of the India-UK Free Trade Agreement, which he said is underpinned by mutual trust between the two countries.

New British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, the country’s first Indian-origin leader, earlier expressed hope for a trade deal during talks with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.

NSA Doval’s visit to London followed his meeting with his American counterpart Jake Sullivan in Washington last week. (ANI)
