Sharjah Ruler hosts a delegation from the British University of Exeter
SHARJA, 6th February 2023 (WAM) — His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, received a delegation from the British University of Exeter at the Dr Sultan Al Qasimi Center on Monday.
The Ruler of Sharjah welcomed the delegation, praising the excellent relationship and ongoing communication between the University of Exeter and the Emirate of Sharjah, as well as the fruitful cooperation in various scientific, educational, technological and cultural fields, which contributes to providing the best opportunities for scientific exchange between international academic institutions.
During the meeting, a number of issues of education and its development were discussed, including plans, curricula, students and teachers, as well as scientific research, which represents the advanced development of the experience of a scientific institution, as well as opportunities for cooperation in the development of education, improvement of teaching methods, and teacher training was also discussed to ensure the best educational outcomes.
The University of Exeter delegation appreciated the Sharjah Ruler’s support and interest in science and knowledge, as well as His Highness’s desire to promote education and raise the standards of various specialized universities and academies in the Emirate of Sharjah.
At the end of the meeting, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah accompanied the delegation on a tour of the departments and halls of the Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi Center, where the delegation viewed manuscripts, maps and old drawings depicting the history of the emirate. for decades.
His Highness and the delegation also watched part of a documentary on the old Sharjah Airport, in addition to viewing important historical books and references contained in foreign and Arab libraries, as well as rare geographical and historical collections.
The meeting and tour were attended by Muhammad Obaid Al-Zaabi, Head of Protocol and Hospitality; Ali Ibrahim Al Mari, Head of Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi Center; Dr. Muhadithah Al Hashemi, Chairman of the Sharjah Private Education Authority, and from the University of Exeter, Dr. Lisa Roberts, President and Chief Executive of the University; Dr. Richard Follett, the university’s vice president for global engagement, as well as a number of vice presidents and deans of the university’s colleges.
