They were located on a residential street shortly before 9:30 p.m., and an urgent search is underway in the area.

The couple were discovered when members of the public alerted the police after recognizing the couple from police reports in the media.

It is understood they visited a shop near Fiveways, Brighton, to pick up groceries before heading back to the Roedale Valley estate.

One resident, Anna Drake, 34, told The Sun: “The pair were seen near Hollingbury Place – a parade of shops. They had their shopping and supplies and headed back to the allotments.

“They were recognized and followed, and this person called the police. Officers in a police car tried to arrest them and then backup arrived.

“There was a great commotion. I don’t think there was a struggle, but they had to wait for the van to arrive. I didn’t go out, but I heard all about it this morning.’

They were both arrested this morning on suspicion of child neglect in front of shocked witnesses.

“SHOUT AND SCREAM”

One witness told The Sun: “The call came from a member of the public who spotted them and thought they recognized the calls from the media.

“He was clearly walking in front of her, just like in the other photos where they were seen.

“They just looked amazing at that time of night.

“Initially they were spotted by one police car, but when they realized who it was, everyone else turned up very quickly.

“He was lying on the floor for a while and was very animated. He screamed and screamed.

“She was screaming at them to get off him. She was in tears and was also arrested a little further down the street.”

Now cops are desperately searching for their missing child, and fears for the toddler’s well-being are growing.

They were seen searching the woods behind Stanmer Villas, where temperatures dropped to 1C last night.

Nearby Roodale allotments are now being treated as a “potential crime scene”.

Residents say police took pictures of an oil drum used to burn trash and took fingerprints at the sites.

There was also a police officer in the photo, he takes pink baby earplugs in his hands from the ground.

They were then placed in an evidence bag.

Police say they still hope the child is alive and have appealed to anyone who may be caring for the child to come forward.

Miss Marten and Gordon went missing after their car broke down near Bolton, Greater Manchester, on January 5.

It is believed Marten withdrew £15,000 in cash and the pair bought multi-SIM phones before they disappeared.

The couple threw the burning car and a national hunting because the three of them started.

They are believed to have been sleeping and traveling around the country in taxis after being spotted buying tourist equipment from the East London Argos January 7.

Fears for the missing 35-year-old aristocrat and her baby grew as temperatures across the country plummeted.

Gordon, 48, served 20 years in a US prison for raping and beating him when he was 14 before being deported to the UK in 2010.

Before they were found, the couple were last seen with their child in Newhaven, in the east SussexJanuary 9.

CCTV captured the image of a hooded couple abandoning their baby’s pram in the port city.

The cops used to say it was the new mom’s gave birth in her car days before the escape of the couple.

A police spokesman said: “Just before 9.30pm on Monday, a member of the public reported seeing Constance Marten and Mark Gordon in Stanmer Villas, Brighton.

“Officers from Sussex Police attended the scene and the pair were arrested. They remain in custody.
