The exact number of steps needed to burn calories from just one pint of cider or glass of red wine has been revealed
A study found that the calories in one pint of cider or glass of red wine can take more than 5,000 steps.
Half a liter of cider contains 240 calories, experts calculated that it would take 5,670 steps – 51 minutes of walking.
And a 250ml glass of red wine contains 225 calories – that’s about 5,575 steps or 49 minutes walking
Guinness it takes a 46-minute hike with about 5,480 steps to burn 210 calories, while 200- calorie content a pint of lager requires about 5,385 steps in 43 minutes.
At the other end of the scale, research about mobile application Wayward discovered that a glass of Jack Daniel’s contains 60 calories and requires a 12-minute walk with about 1,680 steps to burn it off.
A 125ml, 90-calorie glass of champers requires 2,520 calories in 19 minutes, while a gin and tonic requires 2,650 steps in 21 minutes to work off its 100 calories.
Electrical engineer Eric Barrowman, 47, from Eastcote, North West Londonsaid: “My neighborhood is a one-minute walk away.
“I guess I should find one pub a little further,”
The electrical engineer said: “I like a good walk before I go to the pub, but my area is just opposite me, a minute’s walk if anything.”
He admitted, “I’m a creature of habit.”
