A man attacked officers on the De Beauvoir estate in Hackney

Police were called to the De Beauvoir estate at around 2am earlier today (March 10) to reports that a man was allegedly trying to get onto the property.

A police spokesman said the caller told police he may be suffering from a mental health crisis.

Two officers attended the scene before they confronted the man on the balcony of the property.

A spokesman said both officers were attacked, one of whom suffered “serious injuries”, and that two were taken to hospital for treatment.

A knife was later found at the scene.

The man fled the property and is being located.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police on 101 quoting CAD449/10 March.

The London Ambulance Service has also been contacted for comment.
