ACTOR Peter Hardy shared a tragic final post just hours before his sudden death aged 66.

The Australian actor who starred in the soap opera “Neighbors” in 1997, died on the beach near Perth, West Australiaon Thursday.

He flew from London where he lived on a houseboat to visit his elderly mother a few days ago.

Peter had gone snorkelling at South Beach in Fremantle when he got into trouble at around 10.30am.

The tragic announcement of it death descended from Peter’s brother, Michael.

He wrote on social media that he was “devastated to hear” that his brother had “died suddenly” on March 16.

Michael continued, “Rest in peace bro.”

On March 16, the day of his shocking death, Peter shared a selfie on his Facebook from nearby Cottesloe Beach in Perth.

Posting a video from the beach alongside the snap, Peter captioned the message: “More reasons to cheer up.”

The exact circumstances of Peter’s death are unknown.

Bystanders are known to have desperately tried to save his life by performing CPR on the beach until paramedics arrived.

Unfortunately, the ambulance crew could not save him and he died at the scene.

He was born and raised in Perth before starting his acting career in the mid-1980s.

Peter appeared as Jimmy Drain in three episodes of the Australian soap opera Neighbors in 1997.

He also appeared in a production of Mamma Mia! musical and The King’s Man in 2021, playing a Russian general in the third part of the Kingsman trilogy directed by Michael Vaughn

Peter was best known in Australia for his roles in McLeod’s Daughters and Chopper.

Tributes poured in for the actor.

Friend Andy Burns said: “A dear friend was taken from us on the morning of March 16th…the amazing and beautiful Peter Hardy drowned while scuba diving in South Beach Perth.

“He was 66 years old and looked like a Greek god, so fit and so happy that he was back in his home state of West Africa, coming from London where he had made his home.”
