A Romford man has been caught drink-driving twice in four days

Neil Tarrant of Sevenoaks Close was driving his Vauxhall Vivaro Zalny avUpminster on February 20 when he was stopped by police and breathalyzed.

A 48-year-old man was found to have 96 micrograms of alcohol in 100 milliliters of breath, which exceeds the legal limit of 22 micrograms.

Four days later, on February 24, he was driving a car in Squirrels Heath Road, Harold Wood, when police arrested him again.

This time he showed 139 to 144 micrograms of alcohol in 100 milliliters of breath.

He pleaded guilty to two drink-driving charges on February 27 before appearing at Barkinside Magistrates’ Court on March 29 for sentencing.

Tarrant was given an 18-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months, meaning he will not see the inside of a cell unless he commits a further offence.

He was also disqualified from driving for 23 months and ordered to undergo treatment for alcohol addiction.
