A 45-year-old man has been arrested for murder after a woman in her 20s went missing in East London

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 20-year-old woman went missing from East London on Sunday.

Metropolitan police said a 45-year-old man was arrested Tuesday as part of an investigation into her whereabouts.

He remains in custody in the East London the police station

The force said the man and woman who went missing from an address in Orchard Place, Tower Hamlets, were known to each other.

Police are still looking for the woman, but believe she was injured.

Cops have informed her next of kin and they are providing support while police investigate her disappearance.
