Coronation of King Charles live: The King and Queen appear on the balcony at Buckingham Palace after the coronation
Charles III and Queen Camilla appeared on the balcony at Buckingham Palace for the flypast after the coronation at Westminster Abbey.
Charles and Camilla, resplendent in robes and crowns, waved to cheers from crowds who filled the Mall after showers to witness a colorful military parade not seen for 70 years.
The Prince and Princess of Wales and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis joined the monarch as well as pages of honour.
Charles earlier became the 40th reigning sovereign to be crowned at the Abbey, the country’s coronation church since 1066, when Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby placed the Crown of St Edward on his head.
After the king’s coronation, the bells of Westminster Abbey rang for two minutes and fanfare sounded. The Royal Horse Artillery of the Royal Army, stationed at the Horse Guards Parade, also opened the salute.
Shortly thereafter, the queen was publicly anointed by the archbishop in a break with tradition.
The King and Queen left the Abbey for Buckingham Palace at 1:00 p.m. The flight, scheduled for 14.30, was cut short due to the weather.

The fifth coronation, where it rained, reports the Meteosluzhba
According to the analysis of the Meteorological Service, it rained during the last five days of the coronation.
Weather experts combed through archives and revealed that it rained on all four days of coronations before Saturday’s historic ceremony, including the coronation of the late queen in 1953.
Crowds in London for King Charles’ coronation on Saturday were also forced to put up umbrellas and wear plastic ponchos as rain dominated the day.
A Met Office spokesman told the PA news agency: “Rain at coronations seems to be a hot topic – we saw rain at today’s coronation.
“It’s not unusual to see rain this time of year (or any other time of year), it’s just a coincidence that they all saw rain in places throughout the day.
“The coronations were held at different times of the year, so it makes it less comparable, but overall it’s an interesting fact.”

Tory MP Lee Anderson calls on anti-monarchy protesters to ’emigrate’
Tory MP Lee Anderson has sparked outrage after ordering anti-monarchy activists to “emigrate”.
This is how the Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party commented on the arrests of participants of the action from the “Republic” group on the eve of the “Coronation” on Saturday morning.
Police have faced criticism after a number of people were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to disrupt public order, in what rights groups described as “a dangerous precedent for us as a democratic country”.
But Mr Anderson appears to have sided with the police, particularly against protesters who held signs reading “Not My King” outside Buckingham Palace.
Sharing an article about the arrests on Twitter, Mr Anderson wrote: “Not my king?
“If you don’t want to live in a country with a monarchy, the solution is not to show up with your stupid boards. The solution is emigration.”
