The fire in the flat is believed to have been caused by a faulty battery

About 20 firefighters and four fire trucks extinguished the fire on Wednesday, June 7.

Control officers received 7 calls about the fire, the first one came at 3:45 p.m.

Part of the apartment on the first floor of a three-story building was damaged by fire.

There were no reports of casualties, the fire was extinguished by 4:36 p.m.

Crews from Barking, East Ham, Ilford and surrounding fire stations attended.

It is believed that the fire happened accidentally.
