A WETHERSPOONS superfan has revealed why he thinks the pub chain is getting worse.

Tim Clark, 66, has visited 240 different pubs since kicking off his UK-wide Coffee and Pints ​​Tour in 2018 with his wife.

But he has noticed changes in the pub chain over the past five years.

Grandfather told A mirror that its “prices have gone up and you get less food,” while it has also closed a number of its sites.

He added: “In the old days, you got very large allowances. But I guess it’s the same everywhere now.”

Tim also called on Wetherspoons to introduce a stampable passport so people “know where the pubs are”.

There are now 826 Wetherspoons pubs in the UK and Tim is now hoping to buy a camper van so he and his wife can tick more sites off the list.

It has already covered all of the chain’s sites in Nottingham, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, South and West Yorkshire.

And he says his desire to visit pubs means he’s visited cities he might otherwise never have visited.

But his comments came as the pub chain closed several more pubs or took them off the market, with 25 remaining up for sale.

The Pool Hall in West Bromwich closed on May 21st and the Last Post in Lawton on May 14th.

A banking house in Cheltenham was taken off the market this month. and the Admiral Sir Lucius Curtis in Southampton closed last week.

More than half a dozen also closed last year.
