Kejriwal Govt after Delhi LG fired 400 private employees

New Delhi [India]July 4 (ANI): After Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena terminated the services of around 400 private individuals employed by the Delhi government in its various departments, the AAP-led Delhi government in a statement issued on Monday said it will challenge the decision in court.

LG Saxena on Monday terminated the services of 400 private individuals working in various departments of the Delhi government, citing that these individuals were engaged in a non-transparent manner and without mandatory approval of the competent authority.

“LH is bent on destroying Delhi completely. He decided to punish these 400 talented young professionals just because they chose to associate with the Delhi government. No principles of natural justice were followed when the LG took this decision,” the statement said. .

“Not even a single show cause notice was issued and no clarification or explanation was sought at any stage. This unconstitutional decision will be appealed in court,” it added.

“LG does not have the authority to do this. It is illegal and contrary to the Constitution. His only aim is to find new ways every day to paralyze the Delhi government so that the people of Delhi suffer,” it said.

“These fellows were from leading colleges and universities like IIM Ahmedabad, Delhi School of Economics, NALSAR, JNU, NIT, London School of Economics, Cambridge etc. and have excelled in various departments. They were all hired in accordance with due process. and administrative regulations,” the report says.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has terminated the employment of around 400 private individuals working for the Delhi government in its various departments. These individuals were involved in a non-transparent manner and without mandatory approval from the competent authority.

The appointments of these persons were also not in accordance with the policy of compulsory reservation for SC/ST/OBC candidates prescribed by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

The Service Department has found that some of these recruited private individuals do not even meet the educational qualification and work experience requirements as stipulated in the vacancy notices.

The administrative departments concerned also failed to verify the authenticity of the seniority certificates submitted by these individuals, which in many cases turned out to be forged and manipulated.

The Lt. Governor has accepted the proposal of the Service Department that all departments, corporations, boards, societies and other autonomous bodies of Delhi under their administrative control should immediately stop the participation of these private persons who have not obtained the approval of the LG or the competent authority. .

However, if any administrative department deems it appropriate to continue such interactions, it may propose detailed cases with proper justification and forward the same to the Government Services Department of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) for further submission to the Lt. Governor for consideration and approval.

The service department collected information from 23 departments that engaged such individuals as specialists. It was observed that the reservation provisions for SC/ST/OBC prescribed by DoPT for booking temporary appointments of 45 days or more were also not followed in these activities. (ANI)
