Joe Biden will meet the king at Windsor Castle

The king will meet with the US president Joe Biden for tea and will be briefed on the climate debate on Monday.

Mr. Biden has arrived London on Sunday evening and will meet with prime minister in the morning before he leaves Windsor Castle.

There, Mr. Biden will receive a royal salute, hear the US National Anthem performed by the Welsh Guards, and then have a cup of tea with Charles.

They will then meet with financial and philanthropic leaders who will participate in a forum on mobilizing climate finance.

Charles and Mr Biden will then be briefed on the outcome of the meeting, mainly on the support they can offer to poorer countries.

This is the couple’s first meeting since the coronation, when First Lady Jill Biden attended to represent the United States.

Mr Biden attended a reception for heads of state at Buckingham Palace ahead of the late Queen’s funeral before he and Mrs Biden attended the funeral service last September.

They previously met at the G7 summit in June 2021 Policeman 26 in Glasgow later that year.

They shook hands at Cop26, with Mr Biden expressing his sympathy for Charles’ desire to tackle climate change and his environmental activism.

Mr Biden will meet Rishi Sunak in Downing Street earlier on Monday for discussions that could touch on cluster munitions and Ukraine’s bid to join Nato.

The White House said it would “check notes” on the Ukrainian counteroffensive, as it is making slow but steady progress in pushing out Russian troops.

The visit to the UK is a break before Mr Biden heads to a NATO summit in Lithuania.
