A British airport with just one flight a day is up for sale

A UK airport has been put up for sale – and sometimes only has one flight each day.

London Southend Airport was put up for sale earlier this year after a sharp drop in passenger numbers.

“Our parent company Esken is exploring the possibility of selling London Southend Airport and initial planning has already begun.

“Esken will be looking for the right buyer with the capital to support our new management team and our ambitious long-term growth prospects.

A former airline executive has warned that some smaller airports may be forced to close.

David Brion, former director BMI Baby, which went out of business in 2012, said airports love it Cardiff may face more airline disposal services.
