Mystery over BMW M3 CSL abandoned in garage as owner ‘barely drove it before dumping it in private park’

A MYSTERY has sprung up around a BMW left abandoned in a garage after the owner barely drove it before dumping it in a private car park.

The swish M3 CSL model was left for a decade in the monitored bay in an upmarket part of London, according to the motors nut who found it.

The enthusiast posted some snaps of the car on Instagram and told followers about its unusual backstory.

In the post they claimed: “Rumour has it, that on the 4th of August 2004 a businessman took a trip from London to Reading to pick up his brand new E46 M3 CSL.

“He then drove his car back home…before parking it up at an undisclosed, monitored underground car park in London, and… leaving it there.”

A DVLA registration check reveals that the car has never had an MOT and hasn’t been taxed since March 2006, after being registered as new in August 2004.

The social media pictures show it in a state of disrepair, with scuffs on the wheels and the rear bumper hanging off.

However, one shot taken through the window shows the interior, which appears completely untouched.

Other than a couple of pieces of paper on the passenger seat, there is no obvious sign that the sporty sedan has ever been used.

According to the location tagged on the post, it is secreted away in its parking space in St John’s Wood, North London, but no exact address can be found.

The car whizz who posted the pictures went on to claim that the Beemer had been clamped twice by private firms before the law changed to prevent private clamping in 2019.

Beyond that, it’s remained largely untouched and nobody seems to know why.

Social media commenters were stunned by the unique story.

One wrote: “I’m more surprised it hasn’t been stolen or stripped for parts.”

Another claimed the car was abandoned as the result of an ownership dispute between two brothers, though this could not be confirmed.

It comes after an urban explorer found a vast car graveyard loaded with BMWs, Land Rovers and even a fire engine.

Meanwhile, an MOT mechanic explained why getting a dodgy test just so you can pass is extremely dangerous.
