Inside MAFS UK newbie JJ Slater’s jetsetter lifestyle – from holidays to the US and Mexico to luxury nights out

MARRIED at First Sight UK newcomer JJ Slater lives a seriously luxurious life, regularly jetting around the globe to holiday in sunny locales. 

Channel 4 bosses have let slip that they are adding eight more people into the Married At First Sight experiment, in the hope that they will shake things up.

One of these is fashion brand owner John Joe “JJ” Slater from Essex, who will join the show this week.

JJ makes his entrance alongside seven other newcomers, including personal trainer Jordan from Sheffield, dance teacher Erica from Edinburgh and hair extension specialist Bianca from Buxton.

His official introduction to the show reads: “After spending time in Los Angeles dating models, JJ has moved home and is ready to find the love of his life. 

“Admitting he’s a romantic at heart, JJ is the only single one out of his mates and is ready to ditch the ‘Essex boy’ stereotype.”

Additionally, he prides himself on being down to earth and he’s actually a massive softie. And, as a self-proclaimed mummy’s boy, JJ hopes to make his family proud on the show.

Announcing his upcoming appearance on social media, JJ confirmed that he does, in fact, tie the knot with a stranger this season. 

But what was JJ doing before MAFS UK?

The 31-year-old definitely lives the high life and regularly jets off around the world.

The tattooed Essex lad makes his living from his “London based, L.A. influenced” clothing brand Fully Blessed. 

When he’s not marketing his merch, JJ fills his Instagram page with photos of his lavish lifestyle, which includes holidays across the globe and luxury night out in fancy restaurants. 

He enjoys soaking up the sun in exotic locations like Los Angeles, Florida, Mexico, and Spain. 

He’s regularly spotted with a cocktail or drink in hand – whether that’s out at a rooftop bar in London or somewhere further afield. 

Since moving back to the U.K. from L.A., he’s been spotted partying at Nikki Beach Club in Mallorca, which is described as “the epitome of barefoot luxury” and has enjoyed days at Bolivia’s Isla del Sol Yacht and Country Club. 

Earlier this year, JJ soaked up the sun in Florida, spending his 31st birthday on a boat off the coast of Miami. 

“Blessed with another year,” he wrote alongside a snap of himself posing on the edge of the boat, which was moored in the clear blue water.

The year before, JJ enjoyed a holiday in Tulum, Mexico, where he sunned himself on the beach, drank fresh coconut water and stayed in a villa with a private plunge pool. 

JJ regularly shares snaps of himself and his Essex lads, but has said that they’re all loved up and now he’s looking for his own special someone.
