I was in a huge indie band in the nineties with three top ten albums – now I’m an osteopath

A TOP indie rocker has swapped Nineties chart fame for life as an osteopath.

London-based Eds Chesters, 52, was a drummer for hit band The Bluetones, famed for tracks Keep The Home Fires Burning and Autophilia.

Last month, we reported how The Bluetones had reunited for a fresh new tour.

They are hitting the road to celebrate a quarter of a century since the release of their second album, Return To The Last Chance Saloon, which had four successful singles.

Yet in the down-time between chart success, Ed re-trained for another career.

He followed in his doctor father’s footsteps by pursuing a career in health, opting to train as an osteopath.

Fully qualified, he is a member of the Institute of Osteopathy as well as being registered with the General Osteopathic Council.

Eds practises his new trade in London’s Ealing, working as a mobile osteopath as opposed to in a specific clinic.

Yet he will soon juggle the two careers with The Bluetones back on tour next month.

The indie rock band was originally made up of Eds as well as Mark Morriss, Adam Devlin, Scott Morriss and Richard Payne – with the group shooting to fame in 1993.

Over the years they have released six studio albums, with their debut, Expecting To Fly, hitting the top spot in the UK charts in 1996.

Their others include: Return to the Last Chance Saloon, Science & Nature, Luxembourg, The Bluetones and A New Athens.

Recently UK indie band Peace announced a brand new tour after their hiatus.

We recently reported how a major Nineties pop band has revealed a huge new reunion tour.

We also told how a fan-favourite rock band have got back together for a huge tour spanning this autumn.

A Nineties indie frontman also looks unrecognisable 22 years after the band’s huge first hit.
