Fancy a £600 Christmas dinner at the Ritz? Unfortunately sold out a few months ago | Super rich

Hoh how about making it easy Christmas and let someone else cook and go to lunch? The number of Brits choosing to eat out on the big day has increased by more than 250% in the last 15 years, according to research by restaurant booking site OpenTable.

Rich people dine out the most on Christmas Day and of course spend the most money on it. All the most elite restaurants in London are sold out for lunch on December 25, despite the fact that the fee per person reaches 600 pounds. Some hotels have even converted event spaces into additional restaurant space to try to meet demand.

Dining at The Ritz sells out months in advance, so no matter how much cash you're willing to part with, those who haven't made reservations won't be able to accept the invitation to “enjoy a truly traditional and a delicious six-course dinnerpainstakingly created by our esteemed head chef, John Williams MBE.'

As well as the turkey, the £600-a-head meal for over-16s (£310 for 15-and-unders) includes live entertainment, including a concert by a pianist, a singer, a “dynamic jazz quartet” and “of course, no celebration Christmas wouldn't be complete without a special visit from Santa Claus himself, bringing gifts to each child, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.”

The hotel has installed nearly 100 Christmas trees, including a 7.6-meter (25-foot) tree in the Louis XVI lobby, chosen by its own florist. It took seven hours to decorate it with cherubs, luxury gifts, deer models and Ritz teapots. A total of over 10,000 decorations and 6,500 lights.

Patrons are advised that they must appear appropriately dressed to be served. The dress code reads: “Gentlemen must wear a jacket and tie (jeans and sportswear are not allowed for either women or men).”

If you are afraid that you will have too much fun during lunch and it would be a good idea to stay the night, there are only two rooms available on December 25th. The cheaper one costs £5,500.

Andrew Love, a senior adviser at the Ritz, previously said that some British families were “taking up full rooms”. “You do have families whose great-grandfathers have been coming to the hotel since 1906,” he said. “And the great-great-grandchildren are still here.”

Claridge's £495 a head Christmas dinner so popular this year that the hotel converted two additional entertainment rooms into extra seating for the day. A total of 342 guests can choose between a main course of turkey, Wessex beef Wellington, roast Cornish plaice or celeriac and black truffle risotto. Guests will be served in Claridge's Restaurant, in the lobby, and due to the large number of people there, a spokesman said “we have also prepared our French salon/living room for lunch”.
