Full Carabao Cup semi-final draw: Liverpool face tough trip to West London as Chelsea aim to reach Wembley

LIVERPOOL will play Fulham in the Carabao Cup semi-final with Middlesbrough v Chelsea.

The first semi-final matches will take place in the week starting on January 8.

The meetings will be decided in the second leg in the week commencing January 22.

Liverpool and Middlesbrough both received home draws in the first leg of their semi-finals.

Chelsea they will have to travel to Teesside as they look to build a second-leg lead Fulham journey to Liverpool.

This is the last time the semi-finals will be played over two legs – next season the semi-finals will be single-legged to reduce the match load.

Liverpool were the standout performers in the FA Cup quarter-finals with a stunning 5-1 win over West Ham this evening.

Chelsea, meanwhile, needed penalties to see off Newcastle last night.

This was also the case with Fulham, who had to go the distance Everton at Goodison Park to reach the semi-finals, winning 7-6 on penalties.
