Islington's Vue cinema is set to reopen after a major refurbishment

Changes to the 10-screen Vue Islington cinema at Angel Central shopping center are due to be completed in early 2024.

Upon opening, there will be a modernized look, more comfortable seating and a renovated lobby. The redevelopment will come just over 12 years since Vue first came to the area in June 2002.

The transformation will bring 788 “luxury” leather seats that can be fully reclined and come with a folding tray and cup holder.

Customers can also enjoy improvements to the lobby, lounges and toilets, as well as new digital displays that will showcase all the latest blockbusters and specials.

The cinema's general manager, Manuk Asatryan, said: “We look forward to unveiling our new look site in the new year, showcasing the luxurious refurbishment that is already underway.

“Our customers can look forward to the best entertainment on the big screen, including the latest blockbusters, classic titles and the best in live music, sport and theater while they sit back and relax in our signature armchairs.

“We look forward to reflecting the continued improvement of the leisure offer here in Islington with these upgrades and providing even more reasons to spend a day in the area.”
