Bexley stabbing on Penhill Road: Photos from the scene

Pictures from the scene this morning (January 17) show a heavy police presence and road closures.

The incident happened in Penhill Road and Metropolitan Police responded immediately after being reported at 4.07pm on January 16.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the victim, a 30-year-old woman, remains in serious condition.

Officers are currently in Penhill Road investigating as the suspect, who is reported to be known to the victim, is still at large.

Inspector Graham Rickard said officers were on the scene within “three minutes of the initial call” and began administering first aid before she was taken to hospital.A woman who lives near the scene told News Shopper: “It's really scary.

“You hear about stabbings almost every day, it's really horrible.”

No arrests have been made yet.

Inspector Rickard outlined the ongoing efforts, assuring residents that officers are carrying out comprehensive inquiries in the area.
