Kent dogs have died after a crash in Maidstone on Saturday

The driver of a black BMW X5 crashed with two pedestrians walking their dog on Thurnham Lane in Maidstone.

The incident happened around 1:40 p.m. on Saturday, January 2024.

Emergency services attended the scene where both pedestrians – a man and a woman in their 60s – along with the dog, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses who have any other information or dashcam footage at the time of the crash.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Burstead, Maidstone.

“At around 1.40pm on Saturday 20 January 2024, the driver of a black BMW X5 collided with two pedestrians who were walking their dog on Turnham Lane.

“Officers from Fatal along with South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where both pedestrians, a man and a woman aged in their 60s, along with their dog, were pronounced dead at the scene.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any other information or dashcam footage before or at the time of the collision is urged to call Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
