Manhunt after victim hit with bottle at Pearly Station

The incident happened on January 16 after 19.30, the victim was hit with a bottle.

He was left with a severed head.

The BTP believes the person in the photos may provide important information to the investigation.

Anyone with information should text 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference number 576 of 16/01/24 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “British Transport Police are today releasing images following the attack at Purley station.

“The incident occurred shortly after 7.30pm on Friday January 16 when the victim was hit with a bottle, causing a cut to his head.

“Officers believe the person in the photographs may have information that could assist the investigation.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact BTP by SMS 61016 or by phone 0800 40 50 40 with reference to number 576 dated 01/16/24.

“Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
