All women in parliament have been subjected to “wandering hands,” the female minister said when she told male deputies to “keep their hands in their pockets”.

International Trade Secretary Anne Marie Trevelyan made her comments to Sky News amid repeated accusations of misogyny and sexual abuse in parliament, including allegations that a Tory MP was watching pornography in the House of Commons.

“I think all of us women in parliament have been subjected to obscene swearing, you know, wandering hands, as my grandmother called it. It does not change, ”she said.

“The vast majority of the men I work with are wonderful, they are loyal parliamentarians, they are passionate about the things they are struggling with.

“But there are some for whom excessive drinking or some thought that election makes them, you know, God’s gift to women that they may suddenly like themselves.

“It’s never normal, such behavior, disrespect for women.”

She added: “Essentially, if you’re a guy, keep your hands in your pockets and behave as if you had a daughter in the room.”

She continued, “I’m very comfortable calling everyone who thinks their wandering hands are okay. And I’ve done it several times over the years.”

Ms. Trevelyan also said she claimed the Conservative MP viewed pornography in the House of Commons as “completely unacceptable.”

The name of the politician in question has not been made public, but two Tory women MPs told the party leader during a meeting Tuesday that they saw a male MP watching porn on his phone in the hall.
