Home Therapy Session at Signature Hendon Hall Nursing Home

A 'pet therapy' day was organized for residents at Hendon Hall as a helper to help combat feelings of isolation and loneliness.

A pet therapy expert brought the animals to the care home for a special alternative activity.

“The joy these animals can bring is second to none,” said care home manager Rahi Popat. “Our residents have seen with their own eyes the warmth and love these furry friends radiate.

“Participating in this alternative activity was welcome and we all, staff and residents alike, enjoyed the connection and joy that only pets can provide.”

The care home, run by Signature at Hendon Hall in a converted Grade II listed 18th century Hendon manor house, uses pet therapy which research shows has a profound effect on mental and emotional wellbeing. Pets help reduce feelings of anxiety and depression by slowing the signs of cognitive decline.
